About
The goal of the GSA is not to only promote baseball as “The National Pastime” but to represent the art and skill of scouting in a professional and respectful manner with those whom we come into contact with daily. Wearing the title of a professional baseball scout carries a high level of responsibility that begins with Integrity and Respect.
Our roots as scouts go back long before records of scouts and the players they signed were documented. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds—many active Georgia scouts have seen the evolution of scouting over time, and we are blessed to have a cohort of new, young scouts who are eager to learn and preserve the history of scouting, particularly in the Peach State.
We are grateful for your time, and we hope our site can give you a deeper understanding of scouting and Georgia baseball history. If you have stories that you feel we should be sharing, always feel free to share your insights with GSA President Jack Powell (jackpowell@twinsbaseball.com) or Greg Gerard (ggerard@cubs.com).
